Hey Guys! Welcome back to your blog post. We know the Maldives in an unforgettable experience and sometimes travelling especially to a place far away can give you anxiety or frustrated. So we are going to tell you 5 things to make sure you do and know to make your travels super easy. Are you ready?

Make sure you fill out the Travel Declaration Form within 72 hours of departing. Double check that this is completed. When we flew we thought we filled it out and have never had an issue before. We waiting in a super long line upon arrival only to find out we had to get out of line go to another desk or scan a QR code over there to fill it out and get back into the line. It was super FRUSTRATING! So double check and if you didn't don't worry scan the QR code and fill it out while you're waiting in line.
If your resort is far away and you are giving the option of a seaplane or small plane plus speedboat pay the extra money for a seaplane. You will get there a lot faster, giving you more time for the resort. We opted for the plane & boat and it took up over 5 hours due to waiting.
If you are planning this trip don't just stay for 4-5 nights. Pay for 6-7 nights. With the layovers and length of flight it'll give you time to really relax and enjoy before flying home. Also recommend getting a late flight out when departing. They make sure your super early for your flight to give you extra time that isn't needed so we ended up being woken up at 3am for our flight leaving at 9am. We were exhausted and not a way to end the trip relaxed and we couldn't enjoy our last night there.

4. You might think doing a la carte will save you money but we are here to tell you to get All Inclusive, Half Board, or Full Board depending on how much you eat and drink. Check out our other Article that explains what each of these are and includes to best suit your needs. Click here: Half Board vs. Full Board vs. All Inclusive
But just so you know I, Gabrielle, don't drink much but my husband Lukasz loves a nice drink. So next time we go we will get half board.

5. Sometimes staying at local spots is nice and affordable but only at resorts or designated areas on the mainland will you be allowed to wear bikinis since it is an Islamic country. And if your flying all the way to the Maldives for the experience stay in the overwater villa. The privacy and romance is wonderful and worth the price. Check out our Instagram video here: Maldives Under 5k on how we went to the Maldives all inclusive including airfare for $5,000 instead of $10-15k.
