Things to Know Before You Go:

1. Currency: Chilean Pesos so get cash out at your local bank before or have a credit card that doesn't charge transaction fees.

2. Language: Chilean Spanish and they have their own twist to Spanish so if you're confused with some words it is okay. You are not alone!

3. Safety: It is one of the safest countries in South America that you can visit.

4. Cost: It is one of the MOST EXPENSIVE South American Countries you will visit so be prepared and save up.

Day 1: Arriving to Santiago in the morning

  • From the airport and take a either two 24/7 buses connecting Santiago Airport to the city centre (TurBus and the Centropuerto) or you can take a Taxi for around 20,000 CLP.

  • .Check into your Airbnb or Hotel and get some breakfast and head over to a Winery. They are all AMAZING! We recommend Cousino Macul (Check out our other Blog for more details) or you can book your tour with Get Your Guide Experience Here: Cousino Macul Winery Tour

  • Go on a Free walking tour with Guru which is the BEST way to see the city by a local. Since it is FREE make sure to tip.

  • TIP: Make sure you don't schedule your Guru tour on a Monday because Cerro Santa Lucia is closed on Monday's and you won't be able to go inside to see this beautiful area.

Day 2: Head over to Cerro San Cristobal

  • You can take the Funicular, Gondola, or hike for FREE to the top for AMAZING city views or you can go to the Costanera building (Tallest Building in South America) for a similar view but it costs more money. (Check out our blog post with more details on how to get here and options). You can book the entrance to the Costanera building here: Costanera Building Entrance

  • Tip: Go in the afternoon when the sky clears up. In the morning most of the times you can't see the mountains with all the cloud coverage.

Day 3: Rent a Car

  • Take a rental car to Cajon del Maipo and hike Embalse. Be careful the hike is slippery so wear proper shoes. We would recommend an SUV due to road conditions and this will be an all day event since it is far and the hike takes time. (Check out our IG post on more details on the road and our recommendations) Click Below:

  • If you don't feel comfortable you can book your tour through Get Your Guide here: Cajon Del Maipo & Embalse Hike
